Hacking Exposed truly takes a look at what the black hat community is using for tools to attack various operating systems and websites. If you are not careful in designing your software application, it could be used as a hacking example in future versions of the book.

The book focuses heavily upon the hacking tools used to attack various operating systems. If you are looking for a book that describes what the script kiddies and other black hat hackers are using, this is the book for you. It will describe what attack patterns are used against operating systems. If you are a network admin or IT security specialist I would highly recommend this book for you. If you are with the product development field and looking to learn how to protect your application from software attacks, this isn't as useful of a book to you. Although it is still a good book to learn what is being used today, it will only give you idea's as to what malicious users have used in the past and how they will attack an operating system. Overall a good and interesting book.
